I purchased from the son of the long term owner in Washington state. it was very original when I purchased and i rebuilt a set of carbs that are likely still on the car ( still have the originals if anyone wants the originals ), and it ran great. I did new front and rear brake lines, brake system flush, new fuel lines pieces from reservior to lines, and 4 new transmission bushings ( shifter and rear coupler), new vacuum hoses in engine bay, installed new shifter- old one had crack in metal plate and a new used Dashpot ( aka throttle valve compensator), new air filters, new accelerator isolator\r\ninstalled new front struts- BOGE SACHS, pics taken, new rear shocks boge; all original parts saved in Sachs boxes, 4 new tires, balance and align\r\nrebuilt carbs Throttle bodies by 356carbrescue, replace flex fuel lines behind engine, adjust throttle linkage, tune carbs\r\ninstalled pertronix, new oil breather hose ( OEM)\r\nshowed car at eurofest in BMW plant south carolina.\r\nOil change 20w50 brad penn, filter, clean magnet wire mest basket too , new gaskets. also rebuilt the original carbs and packed them up for later use. It was a great car I sold to a local enthusiast who did the work mentioned at the Porsche Classic center. I have pics of the car with Black stripes from the early 70s when long term owner had it, but they were not there when I purchased and the next owner added them back.. True to history as I have the pics. The Seat inserts were replaced by the original family, hence the slight variation in color.. but it was an awesome car, and I met many great friends thru this car. the patina is to die for and it started my journey to many great Porsche's -a G50 targa, a 911e, a 997 Turbo, a Macan. If you look at the links in my earlier post, you can see photos of this car with and without stripes. Looks much better to me without the stripes. It seems to have had stripes in the 70's (see early California photo) and then a subsequent owner purchased the car after the stripes were removed.
