I found this one through an estate sale in Miami, where it had been lovingly owned by a gentleman who purchased it new and later passed it along to his wife after he passed. You know what they say, you don\u2019t just buy the car, you buy the owner, and this one had impeccable taste, keeping his home and cars in truly pristine condition.\r\n\r\nThe car was meticulously serviced at The Collection in Coral Gables, a well-known Jaguar dealership in the Miami area. It shows in every detail that this car has not been abused. When I purchased it, there was a CD left in the 6-disc changer titled The History of Opera, which tells you everything you need to know about the original owner.\r\n\r\nWhile no service records came with the sale, the condition speaks for itself. I did take it to another Jaguar dealership a bit further south for an overall inspection and oil change. Truthfully, I didn\u2019t have the best experience there. They also worked on my F-Type, and based on that, I can say their work wasn\u2019t the most confidence-inspiring. They\u2019re probably better suited for Land Rovers than Jaguars, based on my experience. I then brought the car to my longtime trusted mechanic, Trevor at M&R Autho who gave it a clean bill of health and reinforced what I already knew, that this model is impressively well-built for a Jag and very reliable when cared for.\r\n\r\nI\u2019ve struggled with letting this one go. I\u2019ve had an F-Type and a Porsche 911 at the same time, and this XKR has been my favorite to drive, especially as a grand tourer. It really hits its stride at 60 mph and above, and it\u2019s remarkably composed and smooth at speed with a spacious and highly usable trunk.\r\n\r\nI\u2019ll be posting a driving video this weekend. I had it inspected by my mechanic who frequently works on older Jaguars (likely more so than the Land Rover-Jaguar guys) and told there was no reason to replace it.
