By '86 they did get SEFI added to the 5.0 but it was still the lo-po 150 HP version. \n\nYou can swap a '93 Cobra intake (which is worth a pretty penny nowadays) and Mustangs heads onto a lo-po 5.0, but it'd still have the lo-po camshaft with the standard 302 firing order instead of 351. This is the stock block from the cougar with all HO spec parts from a mustang; the E7 heads, H.O. computer (you are correct it is still Speed Density), stock H.O. cam, stock H.O. headers and it does now use the H.O. firing order. \n\nWhen the T5 swap was performed the engine was pulled (short block remained untouched), it was cleaned up, repainted Ford blue, new gaskets were installed along with ARP bolts, including the head bolts and a new oil pump. The upgrade parts were sourced for sale locally and were off of running 5.0 H.O. mustang. Since the cougar is single exhaust, the factory setup uses a y-pipe after the manifolds, the best option I had was to take a mustang h-pipe and modify it to cross over, so the portion that would have normally gone back was cut and welded to divert the exhaust to the other side. Not the best solution but no one makes aftermarket exhaust so it was my only option. The cougar cannot have a true dual exhaust because where the passengers side muffler would go, the fuel filter and lines are there. Those would have to be relocated to accomplish that, but it is possible. \r\n\r\nFor the brakes in the rear, in my opinion, not worth it. Upgrading to drums is possible with any system available since this has a standard 8.8 from a mustang but I am pretty sure if you upgrade to drums you would have to replace the master cylinder and probably the booster as well. \r\n\r\nFor the power, I know stock H.O. mustang should come in at about 225, I have not put this car on the dyno but I think that would be a lot of fun to see the numbers!
