Huge Cragar S/S wheels in the back with N50-15 Pos-A-Traction Torque Twister RWL tires, and Gabriel Hi-Jacker air shocks to raise the cars up for both rake, and to clear the unnecessarily-huge rear rubber. I think they both added cheap dual exhaust with turn downs ahead of the rear axle, for that awful UPS Truck sound. Not only were the engines both bone stock, but the cars had vinyl tops as seen here, and couch-like bench seats. \n\nBasically, they blew their minimum wage paychecks down at Super Shops, putting aftermarket lipstick on automotive pigs. The hilarious part was when they would try to \"take off fast\" from a stop. Not only could the rear tire/tires never hope to break loose (factory highway gears made effectively taller by the new rubber) but it was the comical combination of noise resonating from under the body combined with acceleration akin to a stock VW Beetle. They basically were all show and no go. \n\nThat was years ago, and these cars are extremely rare these days. I agree that the wheels look out of place, but there are many options for the next owner. Just like @West_Coaster \u2018s high school contemporaries, spending their whole minimum-wage paycheck and barely being able to spin the rear tires makes one question everything you thought was valid growing up. There is a fine line between Starsky and Hutch and Stagnant and Hunch.\r\n\r\nAnd yet, this No Reserve 73 Ford Coupe speaks to me like an episode of The Bob Newhart Show from the same year. Bob was as boring as watching paint dry. Suzanne Pleshette was a vexing little vixen. The two of the together provided a solid thirty minutes of entertainment every Saturday night in 1973. Just like this Torino would have, I\u2019m sure.\r\n\r\nThe color combination is brown over brown over brown. So is a turd.\r\n\r\nBut then, so is a buffalo. And in 1973, this is as close as an American male could get to killing one. God bless him for taking the shot.\r\n\r\nCall me crazy, but I find this car very attractive. Not as muscular as a Monte Carlo. Not as manic as a Matador. My Dad and Uncle were given the task of driving the Torino from upstate NY to southern FL with a temporary U-Haul hitch chained and strapped onto this unbelievably tall rear bumper. Long story short, anything over 50 mph the U-Haul trailer would fishtail uncontrollably as it was so high in the front. Grandpa didn\u2019t get to enjoy FL for too long though... Damn cancer. I wish I had a spot for this car, but the driveway is currently full. Great car, lots of miles, minimal problems except for the front end alignment. Would not stay aligned for any long period of time, had suspension checked, etc.... Neve solved the problem. Luckily, Firestone had a lifetime alignment offer which I purchased. Took car in very 3-4 months and had it aligned.
