They ride well, the box is standard size but seems easier to load than some other trucks. Just a great truck all around. This one looks to be in terrific condition. The color scheme on this truck was very popular and looks to be in great condition. The interior is clean and also in great condition. The open pit copper mine I worked at bought single cab, long bed 3/4 ton 2wd Chevies in white, with blue interiors, with the occasional Suburban thrown in for one of the managers. Sparsely equipped, 350 V8s, PS and PB, and automatics. No radios or A/C. Only the burbs got A/C, the supervisors got to sweat it out.\r\n\r\nWhen I was there in the late 70s, to early 80s, I spent a lot of time behind the wheel of this gen Chevy truck. The mine environment was tough on machinery, and the employees treated the trucks like rented cars. Despite all this, these trucks were like a cheap Timex watch. Remember the tagline \"It takes a licking, and keeps on ticking!\".\r\n\r\nI bought a 79 3/4 ton 2wd Suburban from the Kingman mine in the mid 80s and loved it! Practically unstoppable off road, (within reason) and could haul or tow everything I threw at it. I loved that 'Burb, though I think it still is the vehicle my wife has disliked the most out of the 100s we have owned. The size, thirst and white color were her biggest objections, but even in another color, I think it still would anchor the bottom, in her opinion.\r\n\r\nThese were strong, well built trucks when they were new, and I still see quite a few running around today, albeit with a lot of rust on the less well cared for examples. Carburetor Bob used to do all my carb. work, did them all, & was a true carb. guy, few & far between, made Quadrajets work great, small primaries & huge secondaries for when you needed to feed those cubes. Used to laugh at the \"Quadrajunk comments\", stated by all the carb. \"experts\". Years ago I bought a '73 in this truck with 74K original miles, 454ci, turbo 400, scraped the truck, kept the engine & trans. The problem with rust on it was from behind all the side-trim, it did sit outside all it's life, but it was not in wet country under a tree. Complete 'new' (repro) doors are about $150 and readily available on the net. And way cheaper than repairing.\nEither way, you lose the factory paint.\nBut I myself wouldn't care.
