On the showroom floor was a Red 308GTB, I liked the idea without Targa band so I could run the cold AC in the hot Miami heat (we lived in Miami in winters). I still have a picture of me standing by her on that December day on my desk, I was extremely excited as you can imagine owning a Ferrari and being under 20yrs of age. My Father was not the most responsible of parents, but the guy was rich and more importantly he was all about having fun. So that night I drove around Miami, gosh I have a few stories about that night (all great stories). About 300 miles of driving and the carbs were spitting and backfiring.. so I told my Dad and he said hell take it back to the dealership. I did and they took it for a few days and by friday it was ready to be picked up. I had set up a date with a beautiful young girl, and of course I wanted to impress her with my new Ferrari.. Got into the car at 7pm turned the ignition and turned the lights on.. \"no lights\".. the front lights would not go on.. Ugh.. talk about disappointment.. so I ran inside and said hey Dad the GTB lights don't work, Dad was a long time Ferrari owner he said \"turn it off, wait a few minutes and turn it back on and wiggle the toggle\".. it worked and I was off! The next one would be August 1985 my dad came home with a Black / Black Testarossa.. by then I was in my early 20's and Dad freely allowed me to drive any of his vehicles as if they were my own. We lived in a island near Miami called Star it was quiet and I would race that thing all over what a blast!.. the exhaust was just a sound of beauty, I was with my Dad a bunch of times and that made that car so special (he left me in 86). The next one was the Enzo I bought in my Dad's memory, I know he would of bought that and in his honor I drove it as a daily driver for two years.
