Does that sound like \"no safety equipment\"?\r\n\r\nAs an aside, the F50 does have a few \"advanced\" electronic features: a primitive version of active damping, a front lifter, and a full TFT instrument cluster.\r\n\r\nAlso, the stick shift in the F50 is the smoothest, butteriest manual transmission one can imagine. You can shift with two fingers and the cluch operation is intuitive.\r\n\r\nThe aberration I was referring to was to do with a few design aspects of the F50, but most notably, the chassis: the F50 has a fully-stressed engine/gearbox. The resultant driving experience has to be felt to be believed. In the F50, there is no rear frame\u2014at all. There are no active or passive engine mounts\u2014at all. You sit in the so called carbon tub, and the engine is directly attached to the firewall behind your head. The gearbox is directly attached to the engine. However, the F1 is certainly more special than the F50: a lot more focused engineering went into it, the engine was more bespoke, it was lighter and more powerful, much rarer, aero fans, fancy doors, air scoop, and of course, a central driving position with 3 seats. The F1 was significantly superior in performance, both in terms of straight line speed and on the race track. It won Le Mans!\r\n\r\nI was quite enamored with the F1 and was doing diligence on one.
