I'm a bit of a nerd, so as soon as I bought the car, I created a spreadsheet outlining each service/repair. I plan to upload that over the weekend for everyone's reference.\r\n\r\nThe backstory I gleaned from the records is that an older couple bought it new from Rusnak in 1996. It then passed to the wife around 2000, and she kept it until her death in 2022. The prior owner acquired it after that, and I bought from him a year ago.\r\n\r\nThe car was dealer serviced through 2003, and after that went to a local specialist called Svenska. The guy I bought it from used 2 Guys From Sweden (also in LA) before he moved back home to New Mexico, which is when I picked it up.\r\n\r\nI don't see any patterns or notable problem areas evident in the records. It's mostly just routine stuff (oil changes, brakes, spark plugs, etc.). For instance, when I replaced the front struts last year, I looked around at IPD and elsewhere for an upgrade option (like Bilstein) but could only find a stock/OE part. The 740, on the other hand, has lots of different options available.\r\n\r\nThat said, I've found the 960 to be a much more refined car overall than the 740. Not only is the inline-six smoother and punchier at the low end (vs the turbo four), but the ride is also more compliant, the rear end isn't jittery in corners, it's much quieter inside, there are no squeaks or rattles, etc.\r\n\r\nNot sure if your rear-facing seat will fit in the 960, but it wouldn't suprise me because Volvo didn't change the basic dimensions of the 700-900 series very much over the years.\r\n\r\nRegarding the Nivomats, my car does not have them.
