This car was my daily driver for going on 6 years, which is an eternity for me. I just could not let it go. To me the car offers a near-perfect balance of great looks, tons of glass to see out of, quick off the line, fair handling for what it is, light weight, and the kicker- a do-everything small SUV/large wagon. That and being a California car all its life, always maintained, and relatively low mileage make it special to me. You can see it has its share of patina from how it was loved and made use of over the years, which to me makes it all the more approachable and appealing and worry-free for Home Depot runs. It also has an incredible sounding stereo I put in shortly after I got it, and a massive sunroof that I lived without (it did not work properly when I got it) until about 6 months ago where I bit the bullet and spent $1,700 to have a brand new one put it. I had planned on keeping the car, but a 2018 Porsche Macan Twin Turbo with performance package (1 of 307), *and* the very rare Burmester stereo option popped up and I could not resist. By better half has a 3 car limit for me and so Fozzie had to go. I ran the wires, and the look never bothered me as the car has other character/patina and I am not taking it to shows for judging or anything. The set-up is functional. The front speaker factory wires are in place and unplugged and capped at their termination. They were relatively thin wire gauge, and I wanted more current to be able to get to the speakers. The stereo is set up such that the head unit sends a pre-amp signal to the 4-channel amp in the left rear passenger footwell, and the amp drives the front 2 speakers (they are polks as I recall), and they can handle some serious juice so I did not want to skimp on wires. The rear 2 channels of the amp are bridged to the (easily removable) enclosed subwoofer in the back. And then the head unit also drives the rear speaker doors for fill. You can see in the engine shots the red power line that feeds the amp that is connected directly to the battery, and fused for safety. It sounds amazing and nothing beats the punch of a subwoofer! And the factory head unit (amazingly) had no aux in, let alone Bluetooth! I never towed with mine and it does not have a hitch, and was city-owned (Oakland & San Francisco) before me. It does not burn nor leak oil and has been serviced regularly. It *was* noisy at like 80mph, and I looked into fixes and ultimately found that it was straightforward to gently reshape the \"squeeze\" on the window rail made by the triangular sections where the mirrors mount, which I did, and the 80mph wind noise was greatly reduced and back to \"normal\" levels. I considered making a youtube video on it but did not get around to it. I did this about a year ago and it has held up just fine. It takes some care to get the squeeze tight enough for the seal but not so tight that the windows struggle to close, and that balance has been struck! For your second question, yes, the factory retractable trunk cover is included in the sale. It can be seen stored in its thoughtful little cubby on photo 94 and works as intended.
