There is one motor that turns both buckets, automatically open and close with the headlight switch\n\nThe Gran Sport option came with the finned aluminum valve covers. The grill has Gran Sport spelled out ('65 Skylark GS) and on the trunk, a small GS emblem (from '67 Sklark GS dash) on the trunk. I felt they added to the look, but they are not stock. Not drilled in the trunk, simply 2 sided tape and can be removed for the purists among us. \r\n\r\nThe grills, lower rocker panel covers and taillight surrounds are a darker gray than the stock silver color from the factory. The rocker panels are powder coated the same color painted on the grill and taillight surrounds. \r\n\r\nThe hood has a '68 Riviera chrome hood spear \"frenched\" into the hood to match the leading edge contour. In addition, the RIVIERA letters were \"shaved\". It is a much more modern look than the thick bulky spear that came on the '66 and '67 Riv. \r\n\r\nThe other body mod is the rear side exhaust. These were patterned after the '65 Olds Starfire as the only application of side exhaust \"through the body\" (not side pipes) that ever GM offered, as far as I know. The master craftsman that did the hood, also cut and sleeved the quarter and hand formed the stainless trim with a character line at the top to match the look of the front fender cornering lamp trim. He finished by laser cutting rectangular exhaust tips to match the cornering lamp lense and welded them to the tailpipes. \r\n\r\nThe car is an original no vinyl top car. \r\n\r\nThe interior must be seen to truly be appreciated. It is patterned after the \"deluxe\" interior option but everything has been hand made and sewn. All surfaces are covered by high end leather or alcantara suede, including the dash panel, glove box door and area surrounding the passenger side AC vent, headliner and seat backs. \r\n\r\nThe Gran Sport emblem is from a '65 Rivera GS and \"frenched\" into the glove box door. \r\n\r\nThere are subtle red lights in the lower dash and doors that look beautiful at night. The lower doors feature a illuminated Buick emblem when open. \r\n\r\nThe seat frames are original but blasted and powder coated with new springs and foam and of course bolstered leather with french double stitch seams. \r\n\r\nThe console is a Skylark GS shorty model that I used to integrate a Buick period Tachometer that has been rewoked with digital components and works flawlessly. \r\n\r\nThe radio is a digital blue tooth unit with preouts for amp and 4 speakers. The speaker grill in the back seat holds a 6X9 bass speaker.\r\n\r\nFactory power window and power seat set-ups with aftermarket power trunk.\r\n\r\nThe door panels were built from scratch using an original piece but with a luan wood base instead of cardboard, The integrated door pull / arm rest is a custom sewn piece combining suede and leather with working R coutesy lights. The entire surface of the doors and rear close-out panels are leather covered. \r\n\r\nThe rear package tray is leather trimmed with beveled 6X9 speaker grills and air intake and AC vents for the rear Vintage Air unit. \r\n\r\nThe maroon alcantara suede headliner is custom sewed and matches the seams in the seats. \r\n\r\nThe floor, doors and roof are all heavily insulated with Dynamat. It is shown in one of the pictures but, there is a working HomeLink system, which is convenient and keeps the visor tidy. \n\nThe headers are Hooker, heat treated and provide just the right amount of throaty exhaust note. \n\nA note on chrome and stainless. It is no exaggeration to say that there is $20k+ in chrome and stainless trim, and polishing. I mounted a nationwide search for tail lamp bezels when I got the car. These are probably the hardest to find in good condition. After that, the quarter panel tail light extensions which are a chrome piece that is then painted. Originals are always pitted! I was lucky to find a pair of taillight bezels in NOS. This was a lot I purchased from a collector who sold his car. The cornering lamp bezels, trunk molding, hood molding, all NOS. Bumpers were clean so they were rechromed.
