There was more handwork involved with convertibles, and they were made in much smaller volumes, especially the 300\u2019s. That\u2019s why the \u201c1 in 708\u201d is significant here\u2026the fit and finish of everything was scrutinized, as these were the most expensive cars DB built at the time. They were more expensive to buy than a Rolls convertible then.\r\n\r\nThat badge wasn\u2019t used much after 1965, and I don\u2019t think was ever used in the US, so not sure of her actual delivery country. They are extremely rare.\r\n\r\nThis is such a wonderful car, it\u2019s a disappointment that it wasn\u2019t kept its original color. That and some proper presentation would have really helped its pricing. The \u201864 that just sold for $75K was well sorted, and of course the 280 4.5\u2019s go way up there\u2026I\u2019ve seen pristine 300\u2019s like this in the $275K range or more all day long.
