I drove up to the 2nd showroom (not the main one) and I looked in and what do I see?!! Holy crap a white BMW M1 in almost new condition. There were a few people still at the dealership (after close) but they allowed me in once he saw how excited I was to see the car (I was about 31 at the time, give or take). Had my camera with me and took a few shots. Guy at the dealership said it used to be owned by Pete Rose. Kinda believed it as he did play for the Phillies at the time the car came out. And I vaguely remember seeing pics of Pete Rose around a white M1. I dunno. \n\nWas so funny as the other guy that walked in with me, didn't understand why I was so excited to see this car. These cars were never meant to be daily in town transportation. The first gear ratio is extremely tall, \r\nyou can go almost 60 mph in 1st. Because of this, the cars require a lot of clutch slipping to get them away from a dead stop. Most owners slip them more than necessary also, and \r\nthe clutch discs wear out prematurely. At one point you couldn't even buy a complete\r\nclutch assembly from BMW, however they remade the parts, and they are available again,\r\nalbeit at an outrageous price.
