My father had a '54 Super, Arctic White over Titian Red, and I've always remembered it as one of my favorite two of his cars (the other being a green '63 Riviera). At the early age of 9, this Buick fixed in me the joy of riding in a car that turned heads! And I always loved that dash. An interesting difference between the Century and the Super is that the sides of the rear windows were different. Where the Century's edge is straight, as seen in these pictures, on the Super, the top sheetmetal curved around the window and continued all the way across the bottom. So the white top continued all the way around the window. Very nice detail, and odd that they would have created two different top designs for the same 2-dr hardtop body style. As to the wonderful smooth Dynaflow transmission, I recall my father hating having broken his string of 3 successive Buicks when he replaced the '54 with a '57 Olds, whose transmission, I remember him complaining, could be *felt* shifting! If only I had the garage space, I'd be a bidder.
