The 82 was a Katana with a letter desination of GS1000S. They were 1000cc's to comply with the Superbike rules of that time. The '79 which \"Will never be raced\" is being restored from 4 years of racing. It will be a streetable racebikje, striped bare except for a head light and tach. 80 was sold to a friend and have first dibs on it as sits in his garage un-used. The 82 \"this will never be raced\" Katana in a last minute change of heart was raced in a 5 hr endurance race. Took 2nd place, losing only by 1 corner to some of BAT member @1956Bill friends on a GPZ550. The Kat survived well, but within 1 month, my elderly neighbor back right over it when it parked in front of my house and totaled it out. When the GPZ's were introduced they changed racing forever. And yes @1956Bill was usually ahead of me. Fast, indestructible and cheap to own and race. I'm in on this auction but I'm sure it go higher than I want to go regardless of the mufflers. My only worry about the mufflers is why they were changed. It's the first thing hitting the ground in a tip over.
