In regards to the back story on this one, images 183-187 in the gallery tell the tale of just how special this car truly is. You will also find an excerpt from the Buick Beagle illustrating in detail how it is presumed to have been built as the 1955 prototype show car on a 1954 chassis. This car was probably shown at various GM Autoramas and other events all over the world. There are many details on this car to substantiate this fact as outlined in the article. I'd imagine most of these \"styling exercise\" cars were sent to a scrapyard, making this an amazing example for any Buick collector or classic car aficionado. Overall the car presents very well. While wearing an older restoration it's still very nice. I've done my best to illustrate any flaws or imperfections but there aren't many to point out. Buick in El Monte, CA. It was delivered but experienced a cracked block after ~150 miles. Engine replaced under the factory warranty (3months/3,000 miles?) during which our family drove a pre-war Buick loaner car. \nWith factory A/C in the trunk and plastic covered seats, as was the rule in the mid-50s, it was a behemoth and in my father's words a \"gutless wonder.\" It had a quirky starting system--you simply pushed the accelerator pedal down and the engine would crank and start. A vacuum switch on the carburetor was used to lock out the starter circuit when the engine was running. However, this switch would stick in the no-crank position, requiring my dad to get out, open the hood, and beat on the switch to release it. The car suffered from several minor problems, including a rear right door which was stuck closed. My parents finally replaced it with a 1961 white/white Lincoln Continental. I just added everything to the gallery. \r\n\r\nA few items to mention. The car overall seems to drive well. Again, and I like to continuously point this out so we don't set false expectations, it's \"69\" years old.\r\n\r\nAdding to that, the car has been barely used for the last 15 years or so. When brand new we weren't talking Honda or Toyota build quality. \r\n\r\nThe car fires right, brakes were fine and overall felt strong. The heat and fan do not work, the radio works, all 4 windows work albeit the rear passenger one is slower than the rest, the passenger door takes a little effort to open, seems to get \"caught\" but my client is looking into that. \r\n\r\nI also just uploaded tons of documentation, seems pretty evident that whatever it is, it's something special.
