Here is what I noticed from the pictures and running it through the VIN decoder. Firstly, for anyone asking about body VIN stickers, they do not exist on Euro cars, why I do not know. When you turn the car on you will not get a fasten belts or key in ignition warning. The car here has the wrong bumper trim Euro cars did not have the reflectors, the rear quarter sunshades are missing (not a big deal as they are still available). The original seats were full electric with memory, not an easy option to put back. The Alcantara headliner etc is definitely an add-on. To me it would be nice to put the EDC back on such a low mileage car. Mine was Macao Blue. My buddy in ATL has a Daytona Violet 93. Mine did not have these mirrors. Had different steering wheel. Had the same headlights. Euro cars have 8 & 9\" wheels. US 8\" only. Euro cars are 3.6L up thru 92, 93 thru 95 are 3.8L. 95 cars have 6 speed & Motorsport brakes. Mine had full leather, full door, dash, glove box, center console as this one does. Mine had a rear center console, so 4 bucket seats, also factory trailer hitch. Euro cars have rear fog lights, US don't. The Euro cars can have so many more options that were available. I also owned a 1984 Euro M6 for 19 years. I would take a Euro car over a US any day. Much more unique to our market. And far and few between over here. About 15 got snuck in thru Canada to SC before the deal was shut down. Mine was among those. As well as 2 Wagons, and a 95 Schnitzer car, no sunroof and cloth interior. Wicked! Yes, you did let me drive the car without proof of funds. \r\n\r\nI preface the following comments with the fact that I am incredibly particular, and I acknowledge that this is not a concours show car. I will also say that I will not be bidding on the car, and have no goal of suppressing the price or keeping it from selling. I hope it meets reserve and sells, I honestly do.\r\n\r\nPros: \r\n- Daytona Violet!\r\n- Paint is very nice for a driver. No overt orange peel, straight panels.\r\n- Interior (particularly the seats) was overall very clean, Alcantara headliner had no sag, looked cool, unclear if it's original based on the vin decode, but it very well could be.\r\n- Engine (and exhaust) sound great. Nice idle with the slightest hint of lope from the cams.\r\n- Car drove very well. A little bit lazy under 3500rpm (not a negative, and not unexpected with these engines), goes like crazy above 4k. Almost like getting past turbo lag. Put your foot in it above 4k and it revs like you flipped a switch. Intoxicating, honestly.\r\n- Car rode and handled very well even with the coilovers. Surprisingly soft actually. He is absolutely correct that this is not like a skateboard. Looks badass at the current ride height (I'd probably bring it up a hair). Not so low that it's unmanageable if you know how to drive lowered cars, but dips and driveway entrances would need to be taken carefully. Noticed no tire rub, and we drove the car hard. \r\n- Wheels were clean, I don't remember any significant curbing or rim damage\r\n\r\nPotential Cons:\r\n- Lower front bumper lip is scraped due to the ride height (as seen in the photos)\r\n- Black plastic body strips were a bit scruffy and could stand to be replaced (main rear bumper strip would pop out at the driver side attachment) \r\n- Windshield had a moderate sized rock chip (as I recall), but is original (as was the rest of the glass)\r\n- Extended leather on door panels is shrinking/wrinkled. When I looked at the car it had an additional set of door panels that looked good that were supposed to go with it. \r\n- Slightly notchy when shifting into second gear (not bad by any means, but it was there)\r\n- Cell phone antenna base surround is missing/broken (not sure who would care about that really); had I repainted the car I would have removed this completely and filled the hole.\r\n- Glued on body color lower door moldings were a bit wavy on the passenger side\r\n- Non original front seats (not a con for me, personally I like the manual seats) \r\n- Rear powered sun shade is non-operational\r\n- EDC shocks removed [more likely personal preference again, but it is not known for certain if they still work (regardless if they did when removed)]\r\n- A/C did not blow cold when I drove the car (now reported to be working correctly)\r\n- I was shown a photo of the trunk spoiler mounting points, which were rotted out at time of repaint (repaired - no evidence of rust here when I saw the car)\r\n- The rocker rust. It looked like much more than surface rust to me, but I also didn't poke a screwdriver into the floor of a car I don't own, and was super bummed when I saw it, because up to that point I was all in. This is a known issue of E34s due to a poor design where the drain tube from the sunroof channel dumps into this location. If the small drain holes in the floor are plugged, water sits, and it ultimately rots, exacerbated by imprecisely lifting the car at these points (which were also slightly crunched - rears were good). The undercarriage was otherwise -very- clean. \r\n\r\nUltimately here's the rub: I loved the car. Until I saw the rust; I hate rust. At the time it was advertised as being completely rust free; you indicated that you didn't know about the rust until I pointed it out. Had it not been for that, I think we probably could've made something work and I would have bought the car. But at the firm asking price, -I- ultimately wasn't willing to gamble on the rockers being more than just surface rust. \r\n\r\nThat's my honest assessment. I'm not trying to make negative or unfair comments about the car, just trying to give interested parties more information, based on my inspection, of which they can make their own interpretation.
