My guess is it's something to do with your speedometer from changes over the years. Or as someone stated it's not 3:55's out back. If it's a 90% under drive in fifth that should mean something along the lines of 3;23's in effect which from my experience should put you around 2400 RPM's at 70 mph maybe even higher. At any rate with 3:55's and a five speed it should be a great freeway cruiser. It's easy to determine the true rear gear ratio, just jack up the car, spin the tires and count the driveshaft revolutions, google it, easy peasy. Seller, it IS important, very important, to buyers. If the car is to be a cruiser and not a stoplight monster. This car is NOT geared to be a highway cruiser. Alternatively, measure the diameter of the tires to calculate the rear-end ratio, just need a little 3rd grade math, use one of the online calcs made for this purpose.
