Ever. \r\n\r\nFor the record, there were 51 Elise SCs imported to the U.S.A. in 2011. They are a one-year only car, due to the fact that they were slightly redesigned as S3 models and Lotus stopped exporting Elises to the U.S. after 2011. \r\n\r\nNow, this is rare, folks. Porsche people listing their 911s as one of only 1911 produced don\u2019t have a clue as to rarity. 51 SCs is one per state.\r\n\r\nIf the owner of this SC had a copy of the window sticker or a Lotus Certificate of Provenance, they would see that it also has the very rare Black Style Pack option that features semi-gloss black painted wheels, a black-painted rear diffuser, black-painted undertrays and black oxide-coated stainless steel hardware. Remember, this was 2011 - long before the black wheel craze started in the U.S.\r\n\r\nI own two 2011 Elise SCs and have done ridiculous amounts of research and restoration on them (both of my SCs have Black Pack). Quartz Silver is a rare color. I would guess there were probably only 4-8 Quartz Silver SCs imported to the U.S.A. in 2011. This SC has incredibly low miles on it. It should set a record for Elises. GLWTA!\r\n\r\nFinally, SCs are pretty quick, too. The small supercharger allows the engine to rev extremely quickly. Factory 0-60 time (printed in the brochure) for this car is 4.3 seconds! I have run the So. Cal. canyons with many bikes. And for some reason, Alfa guys always want to choose me on leaving Cars & Coffees. I have left more than a few in my dust. In 2012 and onwards for ROW, Lotus switched to the 2ZR engine for the Elise; a good engine, but nowhere near as peppy and rev-happy as the 2ZZ. Lotus did not feel it was necessary to make LSD a standard item, due to the Elise\u2019s ultra-light weight and mid-engine design.\r\n\r\nWhile I have heard of a few Exiges that were delivered with factory limited-slip units, an LSD is quite rare in an Elise. One of my Elise SCs was a dealership demonstrator. It was ordered with every option, except limited slip, as the dealership did not believe it was necessary. \r\n\r\nWhile performance front engine, rear drive cars really benefit from limited-slip differentials (my NA and ND Miatas had them and they made a big difference). IMHO, Elises do not need a limited-slip diff. Of the 4, it might be the only one with optional Black Style Pack.\n\nOne of my 2011 Elise SCs is Ardent Red. There were only 8 Ardent Red Elises imported in 2011. Of the 8, only 2 had Black Pack.\n\nMy other 2011 Elise SCs is Storm Titanium. There were only 4 Storm Titanium Elises imported in 2011. Storm was ordered by dealers more than Quartz, so it could be more like 1 of 1 or 1 of 2. \n\nThe first thing I would do after I won this thing, would be to send for a Lotus Certificate of Provenance to find out for sure.\n\nI am very sad to not be in the running for this car. Really sad. It is a keeper. Once you own it, you come to realize that there is nothing that could take its place, which is why I have owned mine for 4 and 5 years already.\n\nThe only other car I might want, would be a Cayman GT4, but it weighs 3,227 lbs. At that weight, I might as well have kept my Emira on order. Nope. A 2011 Lotus Elise SC weighs 2,041 lbs. Yes, the GT4 is faster, but I know which one handles better.
