The Ferrari (arguably) was the top of the heap for the era. \nI don\u2019t know how much bigger the 365 is overall but it is much roomier on the inside, more comfortable, faster, and has a useable trunk. Jensen Interceptor is a good comp in my opinion. But the Ferrari has the sounds, smells, performance and looks of a Ferrari. 130mph in a 365GT 2+2 is high speed touring. \nThe same speed in a E-type is \u201creally movin\u201d but not actually all that comfortable or confidence inspiring.\nFor restoration, you might have a good starting estimate but nobody ever really knows until they have got intimate with the car, inventoried what\u2019s there (or missing), and accessed the actual mechanical (useable/rebuildable?) condition. They were hand build and there are lots of skilled hands in the world of restoration. It is not necessary to go to the most famous, most expensive shops to get an exceptional result. If the engine has been out and dry then chances are good it has not suffered any serious water passage corrosion. From what I see the car has not suffered bad storage. Having looked at all the pictures it looks like a car that reached 97K miles and needed an engine freshening and the ball just got rolling from there. There is a lot of telling history in the pictures. This level of disassembly is relatively easy. Any farther gets tricky. I am glad to see that this was not taken further apart because the average or home restorer could have started to do damage as they went further. IE: chain case removal, differential disassembly and transmission disassembly. (Picture pry bars and hammers). Looks to have been taken down to component parts and then all the hard parts, body and suspension power washed. As to ride height....ride height should be fine after the 900+ pounds of parts and materials are back where they belong!
