Now, as most Tiger owners know, these cars were built in various places and scrounged parts together at times to make a car, so if there are more than two sizes of shifters, that could explain it (short-medium-long?). I loved the short throw in mine because it WAS short. ;) On another note (and this again could be stuff from the factory or the refurbishment), all the panel switches are in the down position. I have heard that some folks complain abt the short stick b/c it is too hard to for them to reach & they had to lean forward for 1st & 3rd. I believe that may be from taller guys. The short shifters are available I like the longer one but the short one looks a little nicer and probably does not grind off the scalp as bad when under the dash. Original cars have the switches in the up position being off. The reasoning I heard was that when on in the down position they have less chance of being switched off when groping for the lighter or something else whilst on a dark road with exception on the panel dimmer which in on for its two position not as bright and a little brighter, when equipped with incadescent bulbs. Obviously the dash has been out and there's added controls e fan and maybe a choke? and the later heater controls. MTroads, Jay has a keen eye for the Tiger but nobody's purrfect..... it boils down to liking the car in its personalized state or getting it and fitting it to suit.
