The engine is the original engine, on the back of the block behind the intake manifold is a stamp pad, that they started using in 302 blocks, one way to quickly identify a 289 from a 302. I included a picture of the vin stamp. The intake was taken off, in favor of a 4bbl intake and 4V carb. So they found it fit to put the 4V decal over the 2v deal, I would have done the same thing. I am not sure where they got it, the modification was done by a prior owner from the Seattle area. Actually shows the receipt from the work done and it included the Decal $8. They could have gotten the sticker from WCCC, but they could have gotten it off eBay, Mac\u2019s, Summit, etc. they are available since a lot of other Mercury\u2019s used this decal along with the Cougar.
