It beat the Corvette in most head to head comparos of the day. The Z32 also bested the 928GT's Ring record by some 7 seconds in pre-production testing with less power and tire than the Porsche. Toyota had 4 years to study and test their MK4 before launching it in 1993. Even then the Z32 held its own in comparos of the day. Car and Driver had the Supra besting the Z by only 1 point on a 100 point scale.\r\n\r\nIMSA 1994, the Z32 dominated with an all out victory at Daytona, the first front engine rear drive car to do so in over 20 years. It went on to take an overall victory at Sebring, and a class victory at LeMans where it was only bested by four, million dollar prototypes. The only car to accomplish this in a single season. The following season IMSA told Nissan, no more Twin Turbo engine. The Z32 also took Showroom Stock honors in SCCA in 1992, 1993, and 1994. The Z32 also held the 3.0liter land speed record at 260mph. I believe that car was modified to over a 1,000hp in the 90's, took the record (still stands I think) and was shipped back to Japan and was driven on the streets after basically only a rear end gear change!
