Likely rarer than a Nomad!\nAs for the Surfboards, <a href="https://bringatrailer.com/" rel="ugc">@BaT</a>, they are neither decorative, nor wood. The surfboards are real, made to surf and could probably still be used for that purpose. They are not made out of wood, but made of foam core, polyester fiberglass construction, like most surfboards of their day. \nWhether the boards are period correct for the car, begs another question\u2026 they are certainly made well after 1955 but then again, these fine wagons didn\u2019t become surf trucks until they were at least 10 to 15 years old.\nAs for the orientation of the boards on top of the car, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s a bona fide right or wrong but, fin forward is my preference for the reason the seller stated. An absolute no, no would be deck side up because the sun would melt the wax that would then drip all over the car.\nLastly, more kudos to the seller for using proper surfboard racks.
