I know the heater core /fan boxes are quite common so if someone wanted this back in use it would be pretty easy to accomplish. Hope that shed some light on that. His hope was that I would quit working on the 55 Chevy and do more studying; it worked. The 442 was a 4-speed car with the 2.20 close-ratio and 3:55 posi. The torque and gearing coupled with the Hurst shifter were pure magic. The most unique element of 442's of this era was the exhaust note. They all had that special burble identifiable even blindfolded.\r\n\r\nKudos to the seller for saving this car. That original 400 ci engine and Muncie trans are gone. The 425 ci and T-10 trans are reasonable substitutes but diminish the true potential value of the best year for the 442 (IMO).
