Unfortunately the instrument cluster was replaced, but according to the wife, during the two years the husband drove it, mostly to and from the local golf course, he didn\u2019t put more than a couple of thousand miles on it, if that, so it really is a rare gem! The GM chassis didn't come along until 1987, what I refer to as the Avanti Carlo.\r\n\r\nAs for the other engines, the 327 was used 1965-1969, and the 350 was used 1970-1971, both being the base engine for the contemporary Corvette. The 400, never a Corvette engine, was used for 1972-1976, and the 350 returned for 1977-1980. However, nothing is ever definite with the Avanti. They supposedly ordered a batch of engines from GM every six months, so they probably used whatever they had on hand until they ran out of them, regardless of the model year. I have seen a 1970 with the 327 and now this 1977 with a 400. The 1977 pricing sheet lists the engine as a 350 with no mention of a 400 being optional, but then the build sheet on this 1977 specifically says 1976 400, so again...
