The webasto sunroof fabric has been replaced, the carpets appear to be replacements and the bumpers have been replated. I have been told it should have rubber mats versus carpet. Paint is original, wood is original and leather is original. The inside of the trunk is the cleanest on any ponton I have ever seen. Very nice and untouched. The engine and transmission have been regularly maintained and are original. The clutch I will have to look into. Ill check through the records and see if that has been done. It feels excellent to me. The front headrests were an option and are quite rare. They do sort of block things a bit for the rear passenger, but not completely. It does not feel like there is a partition installed when they are mounted. In 1982, I found a moss green, one-owner '59 220SE in Denver that was in almost as good a shape as this car, and for a few years it was our daily driver. The fuel-injected engine was smooth, responsive, and a bit more powerful than this carbureted version. Finally, in about 2000, we had the entire car restored to show condition. It won awards everywhere and was featured in The Star and factory magazines. A few years later a friend talked me into selling it to him, and it now lives in deepest Oregon, though I retain visitation rights. \n\nThis is the cleanest original 220S sedan I've seen in years, and it's great that the owners have resisted refinishing the original wood, upholstery, paint, and more. The radio is authentic. The headrests and sunroof are unusual options. Bumpers and trim look good. The rear axle whines a bit, but they all do that. These are comfortable to drive, handle decently, and can keep up with today's traffic, though you mustn't ask too much of the drum brakes.
