The K100 was launched in 1983 - at least, in Europe where I was living at the time, along with the RS model. My local BMW dealer had a fleet of loaner K100s and freely offered them to their regular service customers. I had a \u201876 R90S at the time and after a few days with a K100 I quickly struck a deal for one of the loaner bikes. I only kept it for about 6 months, swapping it for a low-mileage Guzzi Le Mans.
