I bought it as a parts car from a guy in Nebraska in 2010. I have owned probably 15 MGA's over the years and have restored four or five. I was attracted to this car because the dog legs looked amazingly good in his photos. That is the first place these go. When the car came in, I was shocked to find that it was the most solid unrestored MGA that I had ever purchased. The car was put in a shed early in it's life and left there. There is a spot, still just visible where a cow had backed up and shat upon it. \r\n\r\nIt was too good to restore in my opinion, so I didn't. I had Connell's MG service of Indianapolis perform a complete engine, transmission, suspension and electrical rebuild. Connell's was the long time Indianapolis center of MG life. They fully restored three cars for me and serviced my others. They are now sadly closed as Bob retired. I am attempting to find all my receipts. I will certainly post compression numbers and a driving video. Drove it for about two months before I took it apart, dog loved going on rides with me, will be keeping it for another 25 plus years. Home to have the restoration down by next summer. will be a weekly driver once done. Think I will save quite a bit of money doing much of the work my self.
