Here are some of the service highlights:\r\n- At 69k miles, a 60k service was done at Leith Porsche (I just noticed looking at this invoice that they noted the cruise control was not working; I had never tried to use it, but just confirmed that its not working)\r\n- At 40k miles, a 30k service was done at G&W Motorwerkes\r\n- At 34k miles, a 30k service was done at Champion Porsche\r\n- The clutch and flywheel were replaced in 2006\r\n- The AC system was converted to R134a in 2004\r\n\r\nMore recently:\r\n- New tires 9/2022\r\n- New top and headliner 11/2023\r\n- New rear taillights and center reflector 4/2023\r\n- New battery 9/2022\r\n- Oil change, LiquiMoly 20W-50 3/2024 \r\n- PPI and oil change, LiquiMoly 20W-50 3/2023. This inspection (pic #283-284) showed dry valvecover gaskets, dry cylinder head and base gaskets, dry case and rear main. The timing chain cover gaskets have \"very minor seepage\". I have driven the car regularly and notice anywhere from zero to one drop of oil underneath per week. Wow. I thought I knew a lot about air cooled cars, but I learned even more about this generation. \r\n\r\nPorsche implemented several hundred (!) engineering changes over the course of the 964. 1992-94 model years got head gaskets, better brakes on C2\u2019s, aero mirrors, and a vent hose for the distributor among other improvements. \r\n\r\nThe 964 is the rarest generation of 911 ever built, and production numbers went down as years went on, making these late cars not just more desirable but harder to find. \r\n\r\nThe common rust area at the lower corners of the windshield primarily occur on cars that have had the windshield replaced. \r\n\r\nLate Cabs all got rear seat delete due to a new federal regulation for three point belts in rear seats. \r\n\r\nOnly 1994s have VIN tags on every body panel, again thanks to the federal government. \r\n\r\nThe tail lights that can turn pink and crack over decades only became available recently through Porsche Classic. \r\n\r\nThere are other minor problem areas (door check straps, front spoiler frown, rear rocker gaskets, spoiler cracks\u2026) discussed in the video that are not problems in this car. My only concern would be the black seats, they can heat up a lot in the CA sun, that's where my light gray seats come in handy. But this example looks so nice, tempted to add or replace.
