Nor with the transmission, as it should be, coming from GM. The thing that will disappoint you consistently on these cars is any part bearing the name Joseph Lucas on it, A/K/A the Prince of Darkness. Anything electric - alternators, fuel pumps, relays, switches, wiring, fuses all bear the curse of his label, whose shoddy workmanship is virtually guaranteed to fail you, and at the most inopportune time. 'Twere my money, I'd spend it to have an entirely custom wiring loom made and swapped in for the stock one, replace the above items with Delco units, and leave the rest alone. Oh, that and the inboard rear brakes, which is a P-I-T-A when you have to change the discs. For me though, \"grace, space and pace\" overcame all that. My 1980 TR7 was a wonderful example: headlights would always come on, but it was less than 50/50 if they would pop up. To turn off the windshield wipers, I had to turn off the car (only most of the time-occasionally they would turn off using the stalk). One time, I turned on the heater blower and blew six fuses in the fuse box, all on the same side. Never found out what caused it and it only happened once (to me, anyway). On the front door sill It looks to me like the door was hitting the sill, slowly wearing off the paint. Because there is no paint to protect it, there is some minor surface rust. The rear one has some surface rust as well, but If you look at the rocker panel from underneath, you can see the metal is rust free and in good condition. There is a tiny paint bubble in the corner of the sill on the drivers side. The opposite side looks perfect.
