This has the LambdaSond logo on the grill and it has a cat converter. My memory is that the EGR equipped engine has a vacuum pump and only 75 and 76 had them. Hopefully, someone will have the answer. Also, this car has no power steering. I believe it should sit on top of the AC compressor. I remember that only the base cars were manual steering and the overdrive transmission, if original, would also have power steering. He\u2019d even been moderately successful on the Lone Star Loop racing circuit before an unfortunate accident on the Farm to Market Road from Maria left him unable to compete (or sing in the choir for that matter, but that\u2019s a whole different story).\r\n\r\nTo still stay connected to the sport, he bought a Volvo 244 DL 4 Speed and turned it into a Tour de France tribute vehicle, honoring his favorite pastime, his German heritage, and giving a subtle nod to the Schleitheim Confession, authored in 1527 on the Swiss-German border. The car raised some eyebrows in the congregation with its orange and black paint scheme, way too close to Halloween for the more conservative members. Nonetheless, his beautifully executed Volvo, a stunning tribute to chase cars of the 70s, killed several birds with one stone, not to mention more than a few of the slower armadillos around town.\r\n\r\nBob was hotter than a two dollar pistol when he came into the Grounds for Divorce a couple weeks back for a meeting with Pastor Peterson from Almost United Methodist and Sister Thelma from Our Lady of Immeasurable Concern. (They get together weekly to gauge the overall ecclesiastical condition of the combined local flock.) He fell into the booth in the back of the diner and slammed his copy of the Stockton Telegram - Dispatch down on the table, indicating his irritation.\r\n\r\n\u201cWhat\u2019s got your Calvins in a bunch?\u201d Thelma asked.\r\n\r\n\u201cSomeone stole the bicycle right off the top of my car,\u201d he said in a huff. \u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s happened to the morals of this town. It\u2019s not the same place it used to be.\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cNot the 14-Speed Eddy Merck-themed, steel-lugged frame bike that matched your Volvo!\u201d Pastor Peterson proclaimed.\r\n\r\n\u201cThe one and only!\u201d Bob replied. \u201cI\u2019ll never be able to replace it. Would sure like to know who took it. Pretty sure it\u2019s someone from my own congregation.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe group fell silent while they pondered Brother Bob\u2019s predicament and sought guidance from a higher source. Lucinda refilled all their cups, set the pot down on the table and took a seat herself.\r\n\r\n\u201cHere\u2019s what you do,\u201d she said. \u201cDuring your sermon on Sunday, have the congregation recite the Ten Commandments. For races on better courses he was on Colnago and then DeRosa, both made with Columbus.\r\n\r\nThere are a few riders riders that also had 5 victories in the TdF but no one has(or ever will) come close to his dominance and number of wins in cycling. He won 2 out of 3 races he entered......just crazy.
