It was the last orange 08 shipped to the US by Porsche and nearly every interior paint to body option was checked including illuminated sills, lower rocker and front splitter to body color as well. Car has even less miles and so I am very curious to see what the seller ends up accepting for this car. Recently an 07 black and orange did not close at auction. Last bid was $260K and short of the reserve. I would not even listen to an offer on mine for less than $250k and even though I would start to listen I wouldn't sell it. This car is going to the grave with me! I will add that I have a 2016 Exige Cup that I track and it is a very pure driving experience as Cyirush states but hard to compare a Lotus to a Porsche. I love both and for different reasons. The raw power of the RS makes the Exige feel like a hopped up go cart. Fun for the track and unique as hell but it won't get you off the same way the RS will. The sound of the RS with an X pipe at anything over 4,000 RPM's is a sound you just cannot get enough of. None of the newer Porsches feel anything like a 997 RS and I doubt anything as raw will be made by Porsche in the years to come. Why these cars will likely continue to climb. This is a pristine example and buyers should bid with confidence.\r\n\r\nRegarding the ECU readout. They are NOT worthless. They are possible to reset but it is VERY difficult, and I've only seen it done once or twice, ever. Yes, some people swapped out ECUs but that is usually pretty easy to determine by the total operating hours, and the miles will accrue no matter what. These aren't 1985 Porsches where you could just unplug the odometer. \r\nHowever, I will remind everyone that the absence of overrevs on a GT3/RS is zero indication of how it was driven, as the 997 GT3 records overrevs differently than every other Porsche. The redline is 8400 RPM, and a Range One starts at 9000 RPM - so you have to go 600 over redline just to record a range one. That said, the engines are rated to 9500 RPM, and as others have mentioned, on the 997.1, I've seen a number with high range overrevs that had zero engine damage. Not so much on the 997.2 RS.
