The connecting rod steering column brace is cool, as are the pedals and the dock anchor thing on the rear bumper area. From 1936 thru 1939 Ford used wide 5 pattern (think VW) steel disc wheels.\r\n\r\nThe front wheels are 16\" 1935 Ford wire wheels. They are 4\" wide and have 32 spokes. The rear wheels are 16\" Kelsey-Hayes wheels. I am as 'old school' as this car. It took me months to figure out how to put this listing together. I had to learn how to upload and download photos, send the necessary info to BAT, etc. ( and partly because I really hate to sell it).\r\n\r\nLet me address some of your questions:\r\nYes, it obviously does have a windshield but that is the only glass it has.\r\nIt is a GM based Iron Duke 4 cylinder, also used by Mercury Marine as in this case, (4- \r\n stroke, of course) but heavily modified.\r\nThe wheels are one-year-only '35 wires, not '36 as it says in the description (brain fart).\r\nThe drivers door is not welded shut and appears to be able to function again with minimal \r\n work. Obviously the exhaust would need to be rerouted. The steering wheel is actually \r\n removable to help you larger guys get in and out. The Johnson's used a Model T radiator \r\n cap that unscrews to remove the steering wheel. Just another of their very unique \r\n touches. I'm 5'7\" and have used it only a couple times just to show it off!\r\nYes, it is impossible to go anywhere without spending most of your time answering \r\n questions and discussing the car. If you don't enjoy that, just walk away. Sometimes I \r\n stand back a short distance and listen to peoples conversation as they discover \r\n interesting build features. It's a blast.\r\nYes it does run and it runs strong. It's noisy and obnoxious. It's an absolute blast to drive. It \r\n goes like crazy through the gears and really lays down when it hit's 5th gear! I will try to \r\n take a video of the engine running today (and possible a driving video if my wife will help \r\n but it's cold here in Delaware right now) and get it posted over the weekend. It has a fuel regulator that can be manually operated to reduce the amount of fuel supplied to the injection unit which helps some. It is NOT a computerized modern system. Yes, if you let it sit and idle or run it like a baby it will hate you and let you know it. But once you understand the way this car is set up, you can run her without issues. Please understand, this is not a daily driver commuter car. It's a hot rod and built to be driven hard on nice days.\r\nThe transmission is geared pretty low in the first 4 gears but the RPM really drops when you hit 5th and the car lays down and rolls. \r\nYes, the suspension and tires are somewhat stiff and with the light weight of the car it will not ride like you daily driver. But it is not uncomfortable or too harsh. Again, this is a hot rod. You drive it like a hot rod and expect it to treat you with that experience!\r\nAs to the vented oil cap - yes it is vented. A little while back guys were hanging rags on their engines and I guess that is what happened here. An Iron Duke has 3 bolts on the straight side, 2 bolts on the scalloped side, and 1 on each end.\n\nThe 3.0L Mercury Marine engine is a repurposed Chevy Vortec 3000 industrial engine. It has a 4\" bore and a 3.6\" stroke. Its actual displacement is 181 cubic inches, so I'm not sure why it's advertised at a 183, unless it has been overbored. It is based on the 1962 Chevy II 153 which is 2/3 of a 230 6-cylinder with a 3-7/8\" bore and 3-1/4\" stroke. \n\nThe Iron Duke is an unrelated engine built by Pontiac from 1977 thru 1993. Whoever wrote the big response in that linked forum page has no idea what they're talking about, but I can see the source of confusion, and in reality, there are two completely different Iron Duke engines. The production Iron Duke is a 151 cubic inch engine with a 4\" bore and 3\" stroke. It does have the same bore spacing as the Chevrolet 4-cylinder, and for the first two years, the Iron Duke was a bastard of an engine that actually did use the Chevy 4-cylinder head gasket, camshaft, timing gears, and a few other small parts. The Iron Duke was completely redesigned for 1979 with a crossflow cylinder head and shared essentially nothing with the 1977-1978 engine besides connecting rods.
