The engine is similar to the single cylinder R26/R27 BMW motorcycle engine. It has ball and roller bearings, which sounds like a great idea, however the oiling system is primitive. Oil is thrown at two \"slinger\" rings on the crankshaft. These distribute oil everywhere very effectively, however they have a lip to collect sludge and keep it out of those bearings. When the lips get full of crud, the crud then is distributed to the bearings and failure of the crankshaft bearings occurs. This happens at about 30K miles in the motorcycle engines, and the Isetta engine is similar. The only way to clean the slingers is to completely disassemble the engine. If this hasn't been done, it must be attended to. Check with the seller. They consisted of grey cardboard cards with some vinyl covering that left the cards showing an embossed herringbone pattern. For example, the rear parcel shelf, from the factory, was simply bare card with no vinly. The floor covering was a simple rubber mat (included, just dirty/worn/torn in spots per the pics). The factory cards are no longer available, only these reproductions that are extremely accurate size wise but are missing the embossed pattern. The vinyl I sourced almost perfectly matches the color/pattern of the factory vinyl that was used on the side cards and door card (which in itself also partially revealed the card embossing). The only thing missing, per the description, are the seat cushions. If you wanted to go ULTRA original, you would source horse hair stuffing...but I'm assuming one would use simple rectangles of foam (what everyone else does and what I was planning on doing).\n\nIt would be the new owners choice to have their interior guy (a) perfectly match the original interior by cutting/gluing vinyl to new cards per the originals, leaving door card \"showing through\" and leaving the rear shelf bare (per the factory) (b) covering the cards completely in the new vinyl but using the same color piping/lower cover color, etc (this was going to be my choice), thus giving you a \"close to factory\" appearance, but without bare, fragile card showing through, (c) ignoring originality and going with your own funky interior materials (a choice that is common on Isettas....most aren't aiming for a factory appearance). The lack of embossing on the cards really dictates you need to go with (b) or (c).\n\nSo, if you are asking \"can I buy this car and spend 10 minutes installing the 'new interior'?\" the answer is no, no such interior kit exists. However what I have included is about as close to that as you can get before you have to start cutting and gluing vinyl. It will enable either a handy new owner or a interior shop to *almost* replicate the factory interior with the addition of two pieces of seat foam (buy from any hobby lobby, online, etc). The only other thing missing would be blue piping and blue herringbone pattern vinyl for the hardboard underseat cover. I had not yet decided if I was just going to select a simple blue vinyl OR paint a small piece of my off-white vinyl so I would get the herringbone pattern showing through. Most likely because I was going with option (b) above I would select a piece of blue vinyl for the underseat cover (you can see the original blue one in the pics) and have my interior guy sew the same blue vinyl into seat piping.\n\nSo, in short, it's as close as \"new interior\" as you can get, but the new owner will get to make some decisions as to execution . In hindsight, perhaps the Bat Editor should have described it as \"new interior parts\".
