Long winded comment here but worth the read:\n\nThis custom built 1957 Series 3100 Deluxe is far removed from its original self-63 years ago having received an incredible transformation into an exceptionally well built restomod. The build first started at Boris Maryanovsky's famed shop, Street Machinery, in Euclid, Ohio where nearly all the metal work on the front half of the truck took place. It then was purchased as a chassis and cab by Southern Kustom Garage in Mt. Airy, North Carolina where they proceeded to continue the transformation and complete the build. Early on, the owner of Southern Kustom Garage decided he was tired of doing builds for everyone else and deemed this '57 his and build it to an exacting standard.\n\nFinished in a striking yet subdued hue of Ochre, which was a factory color offered on 1971 and 1972 GM trucks, it contrasts beautifully with the creamy-white roof, side spears, and painted trim pieces and grille that originally would have been chrome. Every custom build has an ethos to it and the intent here is on cleanliness and simplistic beauty. It is sitting on a Roadster Shop chassis and features a ProCharged LS2 hooked to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual. The engine and transmission were sourced from a 2005 Pontiac GTO and both were built to handle the tire melting 690 rear-wheel horsepower with ease. The suspension is a full air bag system sourced from Air Lift and can lay this truck flat on the deck for that killer stance at a car event and then quickly airing back up and cruising down the road in comfort. The bed and fenders were customized to enable the air system to fully decompress with bed being raised 8\" to allow for the tires to tuck.\n\nSpeaking of the bed, all 1957 Chevrolet trucks received a step side bed unless they had the Cameo option which afforded a fleetside appearance. The fleetside bed would be made optional in 1958, instead of being relegated to a trim level, on the new Apache branded trucks and therefore this is a 1958 bed giving the appearance of a 1957 Cameo fleetside with custom features such as the side spears. The raised bed is hauling a load of lumber featuring a beautifully finished wood deck with body color matched painted moldings with a floor accessed gas tank. The tailgate is also easily accessible to fold down and reveals the \"Chevrolet\" script found on the tailgate is custom embossed into the raised bed giving it that small detail that speaks to the quality level of this build.\n\nNo custom truck would be complete without a custom interior and this one features a gorgeous distressed brown leather bench seat with matching trim, door, and roof panels as well as a nice contrasting tan carpeting with dark brown floor mats. The Ochre hue is carried into the cab with the dash featuring a two-tone Ochre and Cordova Brown scheme that complement each other superbly. The interior features air conditioning, a tilt Ididit steering column, Billet Specialties steering wheel, Hurst shifter, and Dakota Digital gauges that maintain the V-design of the original 1957 cluster. Chrome window and door handles are present as well as easily accessible toggle switches for the air suspension under the dash and the air conditioning system under the bench seat. The interior continues the cleanliness and simplistic beauty design ethos as it is minimalistic, beautiful, and functional.\n\nThis ethos carries out under the hood with a recessed firewall built to house all the engine plumbing to give it that clean and minimalistic aesthetic. Another purposeful design element is the paint finish being entirely satin on the exterior yet glossy on the interior and in the engine compartment giving it that extra level of detail that sets this build apart from any other. Originally this truck was finished with a one-off set of custom Billet Specialties wheels, however, they have since been changed to a set of 20\" Ridler wheels with 2018 date coded Lexani LX Twenty 245/40 z-rate tires on the front and 2019 date coded BFGoodrich g-Force Comp 2 305/35 z-rated tires out back.\n\nBuilding a custom vehicle to this level of quality would easily consume multiple years and $200,000+ to replicate. They are running to and from to the condenser relocated under the bed of the truck that can be seen in photo 192. That is how Southern Kustom Garage routed them and with the truck complete since 2018 there hasn't been an issue I'm aware of.\r\n\r\nAs previously mentioned in a earlier comment, the previous Florida owner crudely modified the exhaust to what it is today, which is the only item modified from when it was finished by Southern Kustom Garage. It does not blow right on the bags. The pipes are about 6\" below the bags and their brackets. There will be exhaust soot build up on the bracket over time as I wiped the brackets down for photos and there was a marginal amount of exhaust soot. The discoloration looks to me like a area that escaped me when I was under it cleaning.\r\n\r\nAgain this was what the previous owner did. It did not leave Southern Kustom Garage like this and there are currently no issues with any of the systems on this truck.
