I do find it odd that there is still any debate about using different engines fron different manufacturers. As long as I remember, that's a pretty long time, Chev engines have found there way into Ford cars. I've always thought the reason was engine availability, cheap and easy to hotrod. Remember too that the 265 debuted in 1955 and was followed by the 283, 327 and 350. This series of engines have been in production for years, there are a hell of a lot of them. For these reasons and many more, the Chev small block has become the go to engine for hot rods. I have nothing against Ford engines, but I am picky. I love the 260, 289, 302 and 351 small blocks. They are easy to build and there are tons of good speed parts for them. I'm not a big fan of big block engines, but I used to know a guy with a '65 Comet gasser that had a 427 FE motor that could really rock n roll.
