Attempting to do so without releasing the latch can result in visible damage to the trunk lid's outer surface if sufficient force is applied by the operator.\n\nA body shop repair is necessary to remedy the resulting damage for appearance sake.\nThe meager photos with thus listing don't show the painted surface of the trunk lid in close-up, but often the paint cracks after the user attempts to close the lid improperly. The cover needs to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise and the missing short snorkel tube replaced. \n\nRegardless of the model year or state smog requirements, there's no point in removing this rudimentary system.\n\nEven though the twin carb big bumper model was short lived, there's plenty of upside as a useful daily driver. \n\nThe buyer might want to go through the cooling system as there is no mention of that being performed by the specialist shop. None of the components is pricey - a water pump, thermostat, heater valve and radiator service are good preventative maintenance on a 42 year old system.\n\nThis model benefits from an engine oil cooler which provides a bit more system capacity. If the e-brake is properly adjusted and the cables lubed, it's very effective for quick 'bat turns' which predates drifting or hooning by decades.\n\nWorking as the service manager of a MG dealership shortly after this car was retailed and being a multiple MGB owner, these are usable in all 4 seasons, even in snow. I can go up the street two blocks and get the grease taken off and take another picture for you no problem. And I do really appreciate the critiquing of my car some of it has been helpful but for example the carpet that is new the carpet kit was under $200 but I did pay a guy who did a great job putting it in $300 so there goes $500 but the end result looks great it goes on from there just like the front axle there was $650.00 worth of labor but it was done right and you can tell the difference in the handling the steering is right on the money so I don't regret any of work that was done to the car the guys in North Plains Oregon Call Bill and ask him about the car I am sure he will tell you anything you want to know about it.he replaced the clutch and put on the new alternator and redid the brakes replacing even the emergency brake cable sure I paid them almost $0000 dollars in parts and labor but it was done right.
