The sides buldge out, the openings in the front and rear were smaller, and all around quality could be questioned. An authentic Mugen kit is obvious when you see them. Hopefully the other Mugen enthusiasts can concur. The first thing that I look for is the side panels, how flush they are, and indented spots for the badges. The front and rear have to have the right dimensions. There were also 2 different fronts. The SiR front has the wrap around turn signals. USDM never had these lights and therefore copies are rare (if any). The construction is fiberglass, fit and finish is top notch, and everything looks and feels quality. Hopefully the images I have provided display what I am speaking of. Also, it would have been really odd for someone in Japan to purchase a knock off kit in 2005, then pay Honda Twin Cam over 1,000,000 Yen to paint it.
