(strictly due to finding the sustained high-boost limits under-load for that particular setup)\nARP headstuds helped that problem a lot, but even with different qualities & thicknesses of headgaskets, they seemed to be the weak-links at sustained high-boost on e85 with a stock block & head. (with cams, lifters, springs, retainers, etc...)\nApparently the previous owner had lied to me, & I was running a cheap Chinese turbo the entire time & I didn't even know...but it still got the job done.\n\nReally fun cars to drive. Super-sleeper status!\nThey can handle just about any modern car off the line, & they 4wheel-drift REALLY well on bald tires... :)\n\nThe trans on this car is a big improvement over stock, & is capable of handling A LOT more power.\n\nMany of them get mechanically & cosmetically modified to hell by amateurs, so finding a complete & relatively unmolested car like this one is really important. \n\nThe engine & trans mods on this car are high quality, add durable power & driver-centric real-world drive-ability improvements, & are bound to be turn-key reliable as long as the tune is set up well.\n\nI would recommend getting this car AWD dyno-tuned for your particular elevation/climate & RPM-range power/boost desires.\nDSM/ECM Link v3 makes basic non-dyno tuning a potentially DIY job if you're good with computers & electronics. (which I am not...)\nOtherwise, any reputable local tuning shop should be able to provide you a custom tune to your desired wishes/specs for around $400-500, or so.
