Did a roller-coaster road trip from NJ to Santa Clause, Indiana (by way of Kentucky Kingdom) with my two high school sons and their friend about 4 years ago, and that car just ate up the miles. Sometimes you want seats as comfortable as a leather couch! Sadly, both met the same fate a few years apart: Our street has only flooded twice in the 17 years we have lived here--and both times my DTS was parked on the street and I was not home to run out and move the car. (I did get a phone call from my son while I was at my daughter's school play that went something like, \"Hey Dad, it's dark out but it looks like the water is about halfway up your car doors.\" Thanks.) This revision consisted of head bolts that were longer and most significantly, much coarser threads. These updated engines have proven themselves to have a service track record that is perfectly acceptable. Indeed, it isn't unusual to see these years of Cadillacs with 200,000 miles or more of dependable service. It is unfortunate that the earlier years did have some problems.
