To be more clear: my point is that these things, just like the cracked glass on this car and the gorilla glass on the 720s that breaks or flies out altogether are design flaws - design flaws which, in the case of the hose clamps and accumulators, McLaren was fully aware of and which a purchaser of a McLaren, imo, can expect to occur. And not only have the seat modules failed but there are none available to replace them, making for a most interesting and unpleasant experience. My experience in all of these things with McLaren is not unique. So, while they are fabulous cars to drive (at least equivalent to my 458S and GT3T), in my experience, they are far more prone to breakage and since, as you correctly pointed out, will not be covered once the warranty is out, are very expensive to maintain, an issue which as an owner I thought was worth sharing. And it is not a matter of \"if you can afford the car, you can afford the repairs\". Probably IMO the most worry free of group. Which has really nothing to do with the McLaren as whole. Yes there are certain things that come up from time to time, but I think it is unfair to blame the company without looking at ownership. Sometimes we forget these works of art are really just detuned track monsters. For the most part many never get used as intended. They LOVE to be driven. Many of the supercars we acquire have several owners and miles in the single digits. So IMO they were all driven and treated very different by each owner. They respond very differnt as well to being daily driven versus 1 or two times a month. Cars are cars and after having Ferrari's, Mclarens, and Lamborghini's they all seem to have a personality. My McLaren experience is just as rewarding as the others. Any issues seem to be somewhat similar and have been easily corrected. @FerrariOfseattle is not going to mis represent any car that could damage the reputation of their dealership. I would feel confident in bidding on this one!
