It takes off with the second gear (like W124 500e), unless shifted down, so there is no intended sportiness. However, it does feel strong and adequate, unlike stock G320 LWB, where some lack of power is felt. Part of G36's power is the fact that it is geared rather low, where 500GE is geared much higher (close to G500), it is also more quiet, utilizing that Euro M117 5.0. So I'd say, 0-60 might not be much different, getting there is nothing alike. \nAbout the Japanese market, it is indeed unique. A lot of LHD high end exotic vehicles went new to Japan, where those were lightly used (being LHD, large and mostly bought to show off), when European examples were driven daily, often though salty winters, before being passed on to a lesser developed neighboring countries as values went down. When I see a JDM g-wagon with 130k km, there is not a doubt in my mind that this is an actual mileage being from Japan, but \"restored\" Euro car with similar miles + TMU would likely mean 500k km and some very frugal love along the way. Where it shines is between 3400 rpm and 5000 rpm where it rips like mad, so suggest to drive around in 3 rather than in D when going on fun roads or around town and speeds lower than 50 mph. G36 also has the tall gears, as mentioned below, which makes it better off road with the engine power curve being so high up. Kind of like a early 70s 911, you can't have a SC transaxle in those cars, they need to be rev'd out all the time. The G36 is incredible but not for everyone, you have to be a spirited type of driver to enjoy it. Its ECU is also mapped to the moon, which is fun, but if you get any vac leak, etc. it will not run well at all, whereas G320 can deal with it.
