My car is a 122S according to the original brochure and driver's manual I have. 1962 was the first year the 2-door and 5-door wagon were added to the line. Wagon's were body style 220. The 2-door was model 121, the 4-door model 122. The higher performance versions were named the 122S-which is what this car is. The 122S came with front disc brakes, dual SU carbs, a hotter cam and standard 4-speed v/s the 3-speed gearbox non \"S\" models came with standard. Photos were done at an Art Gallery parking lot and that stain was already there! I didn't notice it until I reviewed the photos, and thought, \"that doesn't look good!\" but it wasn't from my car. The early cars did not come with an expansion tank, just an overflow tube. I live in Palm Springs where normal this week is 110. I can start the car and let it sit idling and temp hangs right at normal. I use the electric fan at long stop lights when it's super hot outside, but just adding throttle till I'm moving does the trick just as well. When I got the car, there was a small leak in the radiator. I had an old-school shop braze the leak, inspect and pressure test it and good to go. I wanted them to \"rod-out\" the radiator but they said it was clean and didn't need it. Nice to have honest shops do work that results in them charging less!\nWhile it was out, I repainted it myself (I don't care for the high gloss paint radiator shops usually do post repair), ordered from VP Sweden new radiator mounting kit with new rubber shock washers, new correct hoses upper and lower as well as the correct high quality hose clamps. While I was at it, installed new thermostat, seal, radiator cap, cleaned up housing w/new bolts. I had a local shop modify a fan shroud from a P1800 to fit the Amazon as they didn't come with a shroud and it truly helps direct airflow. The shroud, new hoses and correct clamps show well in engine bay photo.\nHope this answers your question! Photo #9 in the gallery shows a scratch, shallow crease in left front fender and one on leading edge of left front door. By the look of them, by best guess is they happened at the same time. Response for north NH: If the grab handle isn't original, I'd be surprised. The entire interior has 1962 specific trim items intact such as the unique arm rests on all 4 doors with upholstered top, chrome foil median strip and hard plastic lower half. And, of course, the wrap around dash upholstery which ended with the '62 cars. To the best of my knowledge, 63-on cars no longer had this dash upholstery continuing into the door tops. My original dated '62 owner's manual shows dash images but are all cropped just after radio plate so I cannot know for sure from those photos.
