Of course, I am a little biased since I drove a 1988 560 SEL that was also in midnight blue....The advantage of this model is that the bottoms are painted blue while mine had the less attractive gray cladding. \r\n\r\nHowever, the tires are not the right size. 195/65 is too small of a tire for this car. \r\nThe US 560 SEL/SEC were all 205/65 and the Europeans 560 SEL/SEC were 215/65. \r\n\r\nThe European spec bumpers and \"reverse\" headlight washers look absolutely amazing. \r\nBack in the 1980s, the Europeans got a better 560. More horsepower compared to the US spec 238 horsepower engine. The US 560 was still plenty quick. Car and Driver tested a 560 SEL and the 0-to-60 was in 7.0 seconds flat. It might have been Road & Track or Motor Trend that clocked a 560 SEC in 6.9 seconds which would make sense since the SEC did weigh a little less. You can buy expensive stuff promoted by detailers but there is an alternative.\n\nIts called bag balm and it contains no chemicals. It feels like grease and you rub it into the leather with a fabric. Rub it in very thick and let the leather soak it in for several hours. Then take off what wasn't soaked into. Shame about the baby tires but that is easily fixed. Dont fret about the SLS suspension, it is a simple and DIY system once you have a basic understanding, about the only think that ever goes wrong are the accumulator spheres as they are what actually do the shock absorption and have a rubber divider membrane inside them to separate the gas and oil which deteriorates over time and thus are sort of maintenance items anyway. Sometimes you will find the rams leaking but that is rare. All the rams do is raise the car up and down and seldom give problems, the rams are what look like normal shock absorbers but are not. Go over a parking lot speed bump and the rear suspension would not give an inch. The replacement rams were no better. So under the rear of the car I peeked and saw that the ride height sensor could be adjusted easily by turn buckle. An experimental adjustment of said turn buckle to recenter the empty ride height cured the stiff legged problem and the rear rode smoothly for the next 90,000 miles. Sphere replacement, much cheaper, was done years after this to cure a non-leveling problem.
