I\u2019m so excited for this auction, square body Suburbans are my favorite classic truck and this is the nicest one I have owned. Rare K20 in the best two tone color combo. This Burb was in Washington State all its life. Low miles, low ownership and extremely well taken care of. Rust free, laser straight body and just darn handsome\u2026 I knew I had to have this one!\r\nAfter getting it I decided to have it repainted, the original paint had more patina than I wanted, most people would have been fine with it but I\u2019m OCD and it bothered me! I told my paint shop to make it look like it did on the showroom floor in 1985, I think they actually made it better!\r\nI wanted a top shelf driver quality paint, the best you can get without taking the frame off. My shop stripped the entire truck to the bare metal then applied an epoxy primer, they then applied a high build primer, block it twice and then used a sealer. They applied 5 coats of base, wet sand the base coat and then applied two more coats and add the two tone followed by three coats of glamour clear. After it dried for a few days they nip the dust out and lightly buff the truck. They use only PPG paint. \r\nSMS Auto Fabrics supplied the correct GM carpet and seat fabric, exactly the same as in 1985. I had the seats redone and the carpet replaced. The interior is brand new again!\r\nMy mechanic went head to toe, window motors and tailgate motors were replaced, carb was rebuilt, steering was tightened, spark plugs changed, belts replaced, new master cyclinder, new brake pads and new BFG tires. With such low miles and the recent tune up, she literally drives like a new truck. \r\nSquare Body Suburbans are becoming so hot and I love it! They will never make trucks like this again\u2026 stylish yet strong, functional yet fun, city yet country! Most have been used as parts wagons for trucks/blazers or rotted into the ground. Folks do love seeing a nice example. I've done a 1988 Suburban, taking off all doors/front clip/tailgate/glass/interior/etc.. in prep for paint and using good products, it's a huge job. But putting it back together is even a bigger job since the devil is in the detail with, 3-phase sound deadening, all new glass rubber/channels, headliner, body mounts, and the list goes on, and on. If done correctly, you'll have something very few will ever get the chance to see and is one of the best rides in your life.
