Without wanting to share any personally sensitive information I think it's fair to say that we have both had other things to deal with, so we have never been able to meet in person. I think he would like to see another Ace put back together and on the road, and I would provide the winning bidder with his contact information. So over the years it's not uncommon for an Ace to need a partial rebody, which means that there are folks in England who have been using the original body bucks continuously since the 1950s. \r\n\r\nThey will jig the frame, repair it where necessary (@Schlesser, there is only one rear section, it just has some extra photos), and then will hand-roll and fit new body panels. I myself would make sure they incorporate the surviving original panels as well, but that's my preference -- there's something special about those parts that were \"born\" with the car.\r\n\r\nMy plan was: send the car off for the body, use that time to nail down the remaining original parts and rebuild an engine. Simon Taylor, writing in Classic & Sports Car has frequently said he finds it to be one of the most satisfying cars to drive. As @Silver_Thimble says, there are shops out there that can put this together with little trouble. The AC nose badge is original (very rare!), as is the windscreen surround. The set of 5 wheels are 15\" with correct Ace offset, the rusty rim shown behind them is an original 16\". The fuel tank is Aceca and would need the filler neck swapped to the other side.\r\n\r\nThe front grille is original, and is the brass type (the \"heavy\" style, not the aluminum \"light\" style).\r\n\r\nThe speedo is I believe for an Ace Bristol, and is the rare type that includes the built-in clock. The last few Aces made, including this car, used a separate clock; you could either use this speedo and blank off the clock hole in the dash, or better, someone would gladly swap you the correct kind of speedo and clock for this rare one. It is marked \"NOS\" though I can't attest to that.\r\n\r\nThe rev counter is the correct size for the Ace, but would need to be recalibrated and refaced. It is (I think) an early Triumph type, commonly used in AC restorations with those changes made -- google for more info on Ace rev counters.\r\n\r\nThe wheel spinners are original AC and appear to have been rechromed. But wait there\u2019s good news\u2026..I bought another Buckland that had even more family history. The same Buckland my Dad and I picked up in 1986 after it\u2019s import from England to NC. I may have showed you photos of it. It was sold back to someone in the UK again. It came up for auction 4 years ago and I now own it too.
