Luckily, I had some very knowledgable friends and judges who offered knowledge and assisted in the research projects. The only notable exception I'm aware of is the exhaust from the downpipe back. The fasteners and clamps are all replated original, the hoses are all period correct repops from Japan, except for one headlight all the lighting is factory original including the rare Series 1 tail light housings. A friend and I even had custom tinted automotive paint mixed to match unweathered horn, fan and tail light surrounds. Carpet was custom made using original early carpet samples and weeks were spent trying to find carpet underlayment as close to original as possible. Also a combination of early and late rubber bushing washers on the mustache bar. Was there a reason the rear wheel wells have the chip guard but no where else on the car is it evident. I only ask as I'm working through a lot of these points on my own March 1970 build. The problem seems to be that these cars were evolving a lot in the early period and so it's sometimes hard to say things w/ certainty. Exact twin, series 1, only mine had mag wheels. In those days we didn't pay attention to VINs, so I have no idea if it was mine for sure. I had the hood replaced around 1975 when it was backed into, which could explain the discussion about a later hood on this car. It was a true sports car, very fast, best color, and didn't hit its stride until after 90 mph.
