In the '50 Pontiac Foldout (couldn't find a '51) they show that two Chieftain Coupes were available; the Chieftain DeLuxe Sedan coupe and the Chieftain Business Coupe. First, the Business Coupe shown in the foldout does not have any chrome side trim like this car, and, second, I always thought the a \"business coupe\" - at least in the conventional understanding of the day - did not have a back seat. Agree with @Paul_Dietzel, this looks like a Deluxe Coupe, back then Business Coupes were usually a more of a stripped down version, used for less glamorous business work. I'd say this must have been a pretty nice original CA car before it was customized. Interesting beep-beep in the turn signals, versus the normal click-click, ya, I was listening. Someone did some quality custom body work, it's still holding up. They put that generator P.S. pump right up there for easy inspection. A lot of old Pontiac specific identity pieces, fun to look at. Engine breather tube looks a little damp inside, but that modified straight 8 sure is kool different.
