Perhaps the seller could confirm where this car came from, whether it be auction or elsewhere? Usually this sort of stuff is confirmed in Japanese auction paperwork and usually you see TMU from a cluster swap(see below). Paint seems to be rather clean though, and it would be REALLY beneficial to get paint meter readings on this one. Looking at the undercarriage, there are indeed hints that there might've been some repaint action, like the listing states. For a car of this stature, I'm a little surprised this car wasn't photographed on a lift. Oh well.\n\nFrom what I can tell, this is a base car, so like @Chris_Nuggets was saying, the two big things are that it doesn't have a rear carbon diffuser and has a base cluster, and most likely an original one at that. It does have a V.Spec front diffuser though that looks to be almost brand new and was added after the fact, because the chin spoiler has scuffs at both corners and the diffuser does not. \n\nBut ALSO like @Chris_Nuggets was saying, I was immediately skeptical seeing that it has a V.Spec sticker(no @retrophit it isn't fake, it just doesn't belong on this car) and some other signs in this listing that raise a couple flags.\n\nI get people are calling NHTSA. Great. Cool. What I want to know is....are they fully aware this is a MPIII car? Where is the proof of that? When I first saw this on social media(before it was even listed on BaT), my first thought was, this was passed off as a MPII car and approved. Why is that? Why was that my first reaction?
