The Jack posts themselves were cut out, the openings were reinforced with new metal and then welded up flush for a cleaner line. Removing the posts was part of the overall theme of adding rigidity wherever possible. \r\n\r\nPhunter5- I did the welding on the overlaid areas on the pan and the four areas where an asymmetric lift is placed. I wanted the car solid as a rock. I also did the lion\u2019s share of the engine work and mechanicals. Dave Wenger at the Northend Wrench, in Clintonville, OH, and John Benton both shared their vast knowledge of tuning as I made improvements to the car\u2019s performance and drivability. Done once, it only requires an occasional brush up in the distant future. In dry climates, probably none at all.
